The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Lockyer. Kullervo does a little dance to reset his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Lockyer creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Kullervo ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kullervo no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Kullervo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lockyer gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kullervo wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Lockyer drops Kullervo with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Kullervo! Lockyer dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Darren Lockyer decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
In defeat, Evil Kullervo stepped up to the mic, saying 'I think my heart is broken.'.
