Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tycho Crux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Rodelin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tycho Crux could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Brian Rodelin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tycho Crux!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brian Rodelin!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Skip Squint and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodelin takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Crux throws a leg kick that misses.
Rodelin closes the distance and clinches up with Crux, looking for a takedown. Rodelin pushes Crux against the cage but Crux circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Crux misses with an uppercut.
Crux fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Rodelin.
Rodelin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Crux's waist but Crux gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rodelin off to one side.
A chopping leg kick lands by Crux.
Rodelin shoots in and drives through. Crux sprawls well.
Tycho Crux has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Rodelin.
Rodelin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Crux sprawls well. Crux wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rodelin gets slowly back to his feet.
Crux appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Crux jabs Rodelin to the body, keeping him at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No joy there for Crux, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Rodelin takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Rodelin sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Rodelin has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Rodelin wants to control but Crux is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Rodelin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Crux is working away from the top position though.

Rodelin tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Crux manages to move to mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Crux lands a couple of good shots and Rodelin has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rodelin grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
Rodelin looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Crux attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Crux, right into the meat.
Crux lands a head kick. Rodelin smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Rodelin shoots for a takedown but Crux saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Crux is looking to take a break and control but Rodelin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Crux is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rodelin can do to turn this around?
Crux looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rodelin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Crux throws an elbow that misses. Rodelin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Crux's guard. Nice move by Rodelin!

Crux fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rodelin, pushing him back against the cage.
Rodelin wants to get back to striking at distance but Crux won't allow it.
Rodelin has a couple of punches blocked by Crux.
Crux lands with a short shot to the head.
Rodelin tries to score a body lock takedown but Crux shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

A nice right hand lands inside from Crux.
Crux lands a hook that snaps the head of Rodelin backwards.

Rodelin is still on wobbly legs! Can Crux finish him?

Rodelin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Crux closes the distance and pushes Rodelin back into the cage.

Crux using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Rodelin has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Crux lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
The referee calls for Rodelin to work.

Rodelin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Crux doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Crux manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rodelin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Crux stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rodelin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Brian Rodelin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rodelin thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Tycho Crux showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Crux has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
