Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between William Avery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Parent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Avery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bobby Parent!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avery throws a half hearted mid kick.

Parent shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Avery's guard.
Parent wants to pass the guard but Avery is keeping the position.
Parent postures up in Avery's guard and throws a big left but Avery blocks it.
Parent postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Avery looking to control.
Parent controlling from the top position.
Avery wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Avery can't keep his opponent in guard - Parent advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Parent slows the pace down in half guard.
Avery is trying to control but can't.

Parent is taking a breather. Avery says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Parent wants to control but Avery is keeping him busy.

Avery is concentrating on defense, preventing Parent from advancing position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Avery lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Avery is working Parent over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Avery had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Parent defends it easily.

Avery wants to improve his position but instead Parent has moved into half guard.

Avery is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Parent pulls his head out easily.
Parent working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Avery has hold of Parent's hands but Parent slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Parent sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Avery defending well though.
Parent is nestled in close to Avery, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Avery is staying active underneath Parent, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Avery is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Parent's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Parent's back!
Parent is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Avery off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Parent thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Avery lands a couple of sideways elbows.

Parent looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Avery has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Parent can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've been hearing that Avery has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Parent lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Avery has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Avery and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Parent is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Avery slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Avery is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Parent cracks Avery with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Avery throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Avery appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Parent tries to score with some ground and pound. Avery controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Bobby Parent is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Avery tries to buck Parent off but Parent is having none of it.

Bobby Parent comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Parent has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
