Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Forest Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brooming Runner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Forest Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brooming Runner!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Runner shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Rogers uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Rogers drives through and clinches with Runner against the cage.

Rogers escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rogers checks the leg kick.
Rogers wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Runner tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rogers swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rogers circles away from the clinch attempt.
Runner dives in and grabs Rogers's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rogers pushes down on Runner's head and hops out.
Runner misses with a body kick.
Rogers seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Runner misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Runner misses with a kick to the body.
Runner should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Runner fails with a takedown attempt.
Forest Rogers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brooming Runner.
Runner tries to clinch but Rogers is having none of it.
Rogers tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Runner manages to circle out of the way.
Rogers blocks a head kick by Runner.

Rogers closes the distance and pushes Runner back into the cage.

Rogers ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rogers no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Rogers is adopting a defensive guard.
Rogers continues to stall.

Runner postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rogers is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Runner, into his guard.


Rogers gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Runner looks winded!
Runner throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Rogers counters by moving into the clinch.
Runner working hard to break the clinch.
Rogers has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Runner is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Rogers tries for a takedown but Runner manages to get underhooks.
Runner misses with an elbow strike.
Rogers blocks the elbow strike.
Runner wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rogers is trying to drag Runner to the mat but Runner just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Rogers lands a hook to the side of the head.
Runner is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Rogers has hold of one of Runner's legs. Runner is fighting the takedown attempt but Rogers gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Rogers is standing up over Runner. Runner looks to escape but Rogers dives into side control.

Rogers is chipping away with strikes.
Rogers throwing strikes but Runner manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Runner goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Rogers has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Runner but great work by Rogers.
Rogers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rogers decides to stand back up. Rogers steps back and let's Runner get back to his feet.

Rogers clinches up against the cage.

Rogers manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rogers is on top in guard.

Rogers working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Rogers throwing strikes from guard but Runner blocks nicely.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rogers accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Rogers rushes Runner and presses him up against the cage.

Rogers has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Runner is trying to keep an underhook but Rogers manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Rogers throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Runner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rogers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Runner has hold of Rogers's hands but Rogers slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Runner keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rogers throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Runner is trying to stand back up but Rogers is controlling him

Rogers thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Rogers escapes and gets back to his feet.

Rogers shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Rogers forces Runner back against the cage and clinches.
Rogers blocks an elbow strike from Runner.

Rogers turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Runner throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Brooming Runner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rogers moves into the clinch.

Rogers has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Runner is trying to keep an underhook but Rogers manages to get the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rogers wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Runner, who protects the arm well.
Rogers creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Runner sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Runner gets caught flat footed, as Rogers shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Rogers is standing up over Runner. Runner looks to escape but Rogers dives into side control.


Rogers decides to stand up, so the ref orders Runner to his feet.

Runner tries to clinch but Rogers moves away
and Rogers counters with a head kick.

Rogers clinches.

Rogers decides to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rogers pulls Runner in close to prevent any damage.

Rogers working for a triangle but Runner defends it easily.
Runner must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rogers bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Runner's guard.


Rogers decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Forest Rogers dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!



Rogers drives through with a takedown into Runner's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Runner wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Rogers manages to pass to side control.

Brooming Runner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rogers takes the fight into the clinch.
Rogers has Runner pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Runner manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Runner throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Rogers wants the takedown. Runner is fighting it off but Rogers persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Runner's guard against the cage.
Rogers keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Runner's head.

Rogers stands up and waves to Runner to follow him.

Rogers lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Runner blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rogers.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rogers tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Runner swivels and escapes.

Rogers drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Runner gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Rogers tightens his grip and picks Runner up, before dumping him to the ground. Runner manages to land in guard.
Rogers prevents Runner from getting back to his feet.

Rogers decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Runner, up you get!
Runner dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Rogers bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Runner tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Runner in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Rogers sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Rogers is landing with some decent strikes but Runner is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Rogers lands a nice shot to the head.
Brooming Runner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Forest Rogers is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Well Rogers has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
