PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Buri Bokh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Powert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bokh kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Mt. KHARKHIRAA. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Buri Bokh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Martin Powert!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bokh works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
That kick from Powert tenderised Bokh's leg. Bokh is trying to keep his angry face on.
Bokh steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Powert.
Bokh lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Powert circles away quickly and effectively.
Powert swings for the body but Bokh moves out of range.
Bokh lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Powert is rocked!
Powert looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Bokh pushes Powert up against the cage in a clinch.
Nice body punch from Bokh - that landed with a thud.
Bokh lands a body punch.
Powert working hard to break the clinch.
Powert wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Powert's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Powert is still on wobbly legs! Can Bokh finish him?
Bokh throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Powerts head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bokh lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Powert or not.
Bokh makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Powert is trying to force a seperation but Bokh has the dominant position.
Powert has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Bokh digs a right hand into Powert's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Powert's gas tank.
Powert looks winded!
Nice body punch from Bokh - that landed with a thud.
Bokh is working Powert over against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Powert's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Bokh throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Bokh creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Powert with a big uppercut! Powert tries to clinch up but Bokh pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Powert to the mat! Powert covers up and Bokh unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Buri Bokh!
