The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Strangler moves out of range of the strikes.
The Strangler has his takedown stuffed
and Almedia cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
We've been hearing reports that The Strangler has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Almedia throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
The Strangler shoots in looking for a takedown. Almedia tries to sprawl out of it but The Strangler keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Almedia manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The Strangler throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Almedia's waist but Almedia gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing The Strangler off to one side.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well Almedia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
