The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCringe tries to bum rush Melkovick with a series of wild strikes but Melkovick uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
McCringe throws a nice looking combination but Melkovick bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
An attempted straight right counter from Melkovick misses the target.

Melkovick closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McCringe to the mat! McCringe manages to get full guard.
McCringe looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Melkovick is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Holding Cell that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McCringe is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if McCringe hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
