The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hernandez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Johnson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hernandez pulls his head out easily.

Hernandez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Johnson tries to roll over but Hernandez keeps him under control.

Hernandez decides to stand up.

and Hernandez counters with a one-two to the body.
John Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hernandez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hernandez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Johnson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hernandez to the ground. Johnson is now in Hernandez's guard.

Johnson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hernandez dives on top into guard.

Johnson is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Hernandez frees his head nicely. Oh but Johnson has switched to an armbar! Hernandez is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
