The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kulli throws a sloppy head kick
and Couture connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Couture tries a head kick but it misses.
Couture avoids the head kick by Kulli.
Couture throwing a counter right hand but Kulli manages to avoid it.
Kulli throws a sloppy head kick and Couture moves out of range easily.
Kulli moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Kulli comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Couture moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Kulli.
Kulli takes a shot to the head.
Kulli tries a body shot but Couture blocks it.
Kulli lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Kulli tries to work over Couture's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Kulli is trying to maintain a safe position but Couture gets an underhook and turns Kulli into the ropes.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Couture stands up and waves to Kulli to follow him.
Couture stuffs the takedown attempt from Kulli. Kulli gets slowly back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kulli does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Kulli scores with a sloppy right hand. Couture should have avoided that one.

Kulli closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Kulli jabs Couture right on the nose. Couture blinks but takes it well.
Kulli takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Kulli throws a hook to the side of Couture's head but Couture sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kalju Kulli dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Kulli.
Kulli pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kalju Kulli seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Couture throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kulli sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Couture has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kulli.

Couture throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kulli closes the distance and pushes Couture back into the ropes.

Kulli tries to throw a body punch but Couture avoids it by throwing Kulli back against the ropes.

Kulli is looking to control Couture's arms but Couture gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kulli has his back to the ropes.
Couture misses with a punch on the inside.
Kulli throws an elbow but it misses.
Couture misses with the head strike.

Kulli breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kulli dives in for a single leg takedown but Couture sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.
Kulli lands a leg kick that knocks Couture off balance momentarily.

Kulli scores with the left hand. Couture knows he should have avoided that one.
