The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Briggs throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hyde tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Briggs is in Hyde's guard.
Briggs is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Hyde has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Hyde might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Briggs wants to control from the top but Hyde keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hyde is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Arthur Briggs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Briggs fails to land with a series of punches.
Hyde throws a big counter combination but Briggs scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Briggs misses with a few strikes there.

Briggs changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hyde looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Hyde is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Hyde really is a fat lump.
Hyde parries the strikes from Briggs easily there. Briggs is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hyde to escape.

Hyde takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Briggs is working Hyde over with some ground and pound from side control.

Briggs has hold of Hyde's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Hyde tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Briggs cranks the arm and Hyde screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Hyde, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
