PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Vindben (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Callum Tweedie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tweedie comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Snow Patrol - Chocolate kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Callum Tweedie told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tweedie with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Vindben throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Tweedie holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Tweedie using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

Vindben breaks from the clinch.
Tweedie keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Vindben.
Vindben lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Vindben misses with a combination
and Tweedie counters with a straight right hand.
Vindben throws a leg kick
and Tweedie counters with a three punch combo that has Vindben backing up. Vindben nods at Tweedie to acknowledge the strikes.
Vindben throws a jab but it's blocked by Tweedie.
Bobby Vindben seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vindben throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vindben falls off balance throwing a combination

and Tweedie counters by moving into the clinch.
Vindben lands a body punch.
Vindben wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Tweedie has him pressed against the cage.

Vindben wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Vindben has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Tweedie obliges.
Tweedie unloads a knee to the mid-section. Vindben lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Vindben wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Tweedie slowing the pace effectively.
Vindben is trying to break the clinch but Tweedie is controlling him.

Tweedie lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Tweedie scores with a shoulder strike.
Vindben is looking to break free of the clinch but Tweedie has double underhooks.
Tweedie landing knees to the body.
Tweedie lands with a short shot to the head.

Vindben is rocked!

Tweedie gets control of Vindben's arms and successfully pulls guard. Tweedie will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Tweedie pulls Vindben in to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tweedie manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Vindben throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Tweedie, right into the meat.
Vindben misses with a few strikes there.
Tweedie lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Oh Vindben is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Tweedie goes for a small jab and connects. Now Tweedie goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Vindben stumbles back but Tweedie runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Vindben to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Vindben will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
