Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jose Rodri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nakamura Nagasaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jose Rodri has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Rodri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nakamura Nagasaki!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Shimada and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodri fails with a takedown attempt.
Nagasaki lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Rodri doesn't manage to clinch there - Nagasaki circles away.
Nagasaki throws the kick towards the body but Rodri avoids it.
Rodri is looking for a counter combo.

Nagasaki darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Nagasaki in particular looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rodri looking for submissions off his back.
Rodri wants to improve his position but Nagasaki is controlling well.

Rodri is looking to escape.
Nagasaki content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Nagasaki is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Rodri wants to control but Nagasaki is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Nagasaki seems to be working for a kimura but Rodri defends the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Well, if Nagasaki is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rodri trying to control here.
Nagasaki content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Rodri knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nagasaki on the ground.
Nagasaki trying to advance position but Rodri counters by regaining guard.
Nagasaki showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Rodri is looking to clinch.
Nagasaki fails with a takedown attempt.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Nagasaki enables Rodri to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nagasaki manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Nagasaki wriggles free and stands up.

Nagasaki shoots in and bounces Rodri off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rodri is trying to keep Nagasaki in close.
Rodri pulls Nagasaki in close to prevent any damage.
Nagasaki with a nice head shot there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Nagasaki stands and steps away. Rodri gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Rodri misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Nagasaki unleashes a big counter combination but Rodri bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nakamura Nagasaki dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Nagasaki dives in and scores a takedown into Rodri's guard.
Nagasaki is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Rodri is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Rodri is working an open guard so Nagasaki takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nagasaki fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Nagasaki fails in his attempt to clinch.

Rodri wants to clinch.

Nagasaki moves into range and clinches up with Rodri.

Rodri wants the takedown. Nagasaki is fighting it off but Rodri persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Nagasaki's guard against the cage.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Nagasaki manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Nagasaki is looking for a takedown.

Rodri pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rodri throws a head kick but Nagasaki moves out of range.
Rodri tries to clinch up.
Rodri wants to clinch up but Nagasaki keeps it at a distance.
Nagasaki has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Nagasaki fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rodri to the ground. Nagasaki is now in Rodri's guard.
Rodri is looking to stand back up but Nagasaki counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Rodri.
Nagasaki is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Rodri wants to control but Nagasaki is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Nagasaki lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Rodri is trying to stand back up but Nagasaki is controlling him
Rodri is trying to maintain the position but Nagasaki is very close to passing his half guard.

Rodri is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nagasaki pulls his head out easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Nagasaki is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Nagasaki looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Rodri is trying to control but Nagasaki manages to pass to mount!
Rodri is trying to stand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Nagasaki looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Nagasaki tries to control but Rodri wriggling away.
Rodri has given up his back here.
A lull in the action here.
Rodri wants to escape the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rodri trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Nagasaki is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Rodri has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nakamura Nagasaki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Rodri shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nagasaki sprawls well. Nagasaki wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rodri gets slowly back to his feet.
Nagasaki dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rodri. That did some damage!
Nagasaki fails to land with a series of punches.
Rodri tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Nagasaki manages to circle out of the way.

Nagasaki closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Nagasaki takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Nagasaki throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Rodri to regain full guard.
Nakamura Nagasaki has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rodri looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Nagasaki got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rodri has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nagasaki has managed to get both his arms back between Rodri's legs - danger averted.
Rodri looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nagasaki is one step ahead there.
Rodri might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Nagasaki postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Nagasaki cracks Rodri with a solid left hand.
Nagasaki lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Nagasaki sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Rodri misses with a body kick.

Nagasaki darts in and clinches Rodri up against the cage.

Rodri is trying to trip Nagasaki. He has hold of a leg but Nagasaki is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Rodri persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Nagasaki scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Nagasaki throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rodri was covering up waiting for the punch and Nagasaki finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Nagasaki not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Rodri manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nagasaki manages to get himself to full guard.


That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Rodri drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rodri jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Rodri slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Sloppy strikes there by Rodri.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Rodri stands up and we're back to a striking position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Nakamura Nagasaki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Nagasaki has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Nakamura Nagasaki decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
