Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jarrod Mcgowan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Palas Vorto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jarrod Mcgowan is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jarrod Mcgowan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Palas Vorto!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vorto shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Vorto gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Mcgowan paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Vorto shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Vorto was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Vorto tries to advance to mount but Mcgowan denies him.

Vorto goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Mcgowan has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Vorto but great work by Mcgowan.

Mcgowan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Vorto is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Mcgowan is trying to ground and pound but Vorto uses the momentary lack of control by Mcgowan to regain half guard.
Vorto moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Vorto lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Mcgowan is working an open guard so Vorto takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Vorto drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Mcgowan sneaks out the side door and pushes Vorto away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Vorto is looking for submissions but instead, Mcgowan has regained full guard.

Mcgowan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vorto can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mcgowan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vorto gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Vorto is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Vorto lands a couple of digs.

Vorto decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jarrod Mcgowan will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Vorto drives through with a takedown into guard.

Mcgowan has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Vorto is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Mcgowan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vorto has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mcgowan has managed to get both his arms back between Vorto's legs - danger averted.
