Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Craig Hanks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evil Kullervo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kullervo comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Kullervo Entrance Theme kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Craig Hanks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Evil Kullervo!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanks is looking to land body kicks.
Hanks takes a swing at Kullervo's ribcage but misses.
Hanks on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Kullervo lands a head kick!


It looks like Craig Hanks has been cut.
Kullervo blocks a jab.
Kullervo has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Hanks is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Hanks misses with a low kick.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Hanks.
Hanks takes a swing at Kullervo's ribcage but misses.
Kullervo moves into range and connects with a jab.
Kullervo throws a low kick but it's checked well by Hanks.
Hanks throws a body shot but no joy.
Hanks throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

A big head kick from Kullervo and Hanks is sent sprawling to the canvas!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kullervo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Kullervo trying to control but Hanks is working from the bottom.
Kullervo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Kullervo looking to sit in guard and control but Hanks gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hanks sitting in guard, not really doing much.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kullervo trying to keep a closed guard but Hanks is proving a slippery customer.

Hanks got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kullervo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hanks has managed to get both his arms back between Kullervo's legs - danger averted.

Kullervo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Kullervo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hanks defends it easily.

Kullervo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hanks gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hanks content to stall in guard here.

Kullervo is looking for a triangle but Hanks pushes his legs off easily.
Hanks stays in close to Kullervo's body and controls the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Kullervo is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Kullervo is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Hanks rolls with it to try and escape but Kullervo cranks on the arm and Hanks is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Evil Kullervo!
Evil Kullervo decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
