PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dick Cummings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The End (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cummings comes to the cage accompanied by Mr. Roboto. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dick Cummings!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, The End!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
End shoots in and drives through. Cummings sprawls well.
End has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Cummings is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Cummings throws an uppercut from half a mile away. End sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from End is defended easily by Cummings.
Cummings was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Cummings clinches up against the cage.
End drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Cummings gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Dick Cummings has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of The End.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
End tries to pull guard but Cummings holds him up against the cage and eventually End drops back down to his feet.
End is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Cummings to keep the fight standing.

A right hook to the body lands for Cummings.
End has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cummings is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Cummings tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Cummings lands a nice shot to the body.
End blocks an elbow strike from Cummings.
Cummings doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
End has Cummings pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Cummings manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
End avoids a wild elbow strike from Cummings.
End tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cummings just stands there and leans against the cage.
End has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Cummings after a bit of a struggle.
End is trying to pull guard but Cummings turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
End tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Cummings smiles and moves away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A jab from Cummings misses.
End closes the distance and clinches up with Cummings, looking for a takedown. End pushes Cummings against the cage but Cummings circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A punch combination from Cummings misses.
The End seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cummings displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from End.

End scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Cummings is looking to improve his position.
Cummings is controlling End's position as best he can from this difficult position.
End works his way into full mount!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

End working for a submission but Cummings is keeping him at bay.

End working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Cummings is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

End looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

End is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Cummings has managed to escape the submission attempt.

End is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Cummings can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cummings is squirming around, avoiding End's attempts to control the action.

End is working for a guillotine from mount but Cummings frees his head quite easily.
End throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cummings wants to control but End is having none of it.
End looking to control but Cummings is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The End dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


End doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Cummings counters with a straight right hand.
End slips under a jab.
End with the counter takedown but Cummings avoids it easily.
End shoots in for a takedown but Cummings shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A little feinted left hand from Cummings on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
End shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dick Cummings has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of The End.
Cummings connects with a body shot that sends End's belly button to the back.

Cummings tries to sprawl but End drives through with a takedown into half guard.
End is thwarting Cummings's attempts to control the position.
Cummings tries to get to full guard but End has control of the leg.

Cummings is controlling End's trapped leg to prevent End from advancing to side control.

The End has got the better of the ground game so far.
End seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cummings does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Cummings wants to control but End is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Cummings knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for End on the ground.
Cummings tries to roll over but End keeps him under control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

End is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cummings is refusing to be controlled, as End sits in half guard.
Cummings is looking to control End's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cummings avoid being mounted?

End seems to be working for a kimura but Cummings defends the submission attempt.
Cummings trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

End working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Cummings looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by End! Submission of the night perhaps?

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). The End!
A very excited looking The End made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
In defeat, Dick Cummings stepped up to the mic, saying 'SHIIIIIT!!!!'.
