PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mo Frazier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dexter Rutecki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rutecki comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Remember the Name kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Mo Frazier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 39 - 55 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dexter Rutecki!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Frazier drives through with a takedown into guard.

Rutecki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Frazier can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Rutecki looks winded!
Frazier makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Rutecki keeping moving, preventing Frazier from controlling successfully.
Frazier is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Rutecki is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Frazier engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Frazier's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Frazier controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Frazier trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Frazier trying to control the position from guard on top but Rutecki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Frazier working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Frazier gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Frazier throws a series of strikes that have Rutecki backpedaling.

Frazier dives in and scores a takedown into Rutecki's guard.

Frazier controls from within his opponent's guard.
Frazier with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Frazier wants to control from the top but Rutecki keeps moving.
Rutecki is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Frazier makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Frazier is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Frazier scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Frazier distracts Rutecki with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Frazier passes Rutecki's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Frazier slips a nice elbow through Rutecki's hands, connecting with Rutecki's forehead.
Rutecki wants to improve his position but Frazier is controlling well.

Frazier lands strikes from half guard.

Frazier is looking for a kimura here.
Frazier seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rutecki does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Rutecki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Frazier. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Rutecki gets tackled into the cage by Frazier. Frazier maintains the clinch.
Rutecki has had enough of the clinch but Frazier keeps him there for the moment.
Rutecki pushes off an throws an elbow but Frazier leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Frazier drops down looking for an ankle pick but Rutecki pulls his leg out and moves away.
Rutecki throws a sloppy head kick and Frazier moves out of range easily.
Rutecki doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Frazier manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Rutecki on his heels. He'll look to pass Rutecki's guard now, I'm sure.
Rutecki wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Frazier manages to pass to side control.

Rutecki has hold of Frazier's hands but Frazier slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Rutecki is breathing heavily.
Frazier scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Frazier looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Frazier is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Frazier decides to stand and escape the position.
Dexter Rutecki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Frazier lunges at Rutecki with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rutecki's hand.
Frazier displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Frazier connects with an inside leg kick.
Rutecki throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A head kick misses from Rutecki.
Frazier is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rutecki can do to turn this around?
Rutecki drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Frazier ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Frazier lands a nice shot to the body.
Frazier scores with a shot to the body.

Frazier closes the distance and clinches.

Frazier breaks the clinch.
Frazier throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
And Rutecki tries to counter it with a takedown but Frazier pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Rutecki gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Frazier controls from within his opponent's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Frazier working some strikes from top position.
Frazier showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Frazier connects with a couple of short punches.
Frazier is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Rutecki looking for subs off his back but Frazier has passed one foot through into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mo Frazier dominated that second round.
That's time! Frazier's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


A cross from Frazier lands.
Rutecki swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Frazier scores with a kick to the body.
Mo Frazier is winning the standup battle so far.
Rutecki takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Frazier scores with a nice strike.
Frazier's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Frazier duly obliges.


Rutecki is rocked!
Frazier cracks Rutecki's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Rutecki slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Frazier can do further damage! This one is done, son!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mo Frazier!
A relieved looking Mo Frazier thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
