Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cru Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cru Jones looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 43 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cru Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bobby Tate!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tate misses with a takedown
letting Jones counter with a right hand.
Tate rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Tate moves into the clinch successfully.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Jones.

Tate jumps guard.
Tate trying to keep a closed guard but Jones is proving a slippery customer.

Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tate has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Tate's legs - danger averted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tate looking for a guillotine here but Jones defends easily.

Tate looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Tate looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Tate has momentary wrist control but Jones slips an elbow through the middle.

Tate has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though.
Tate has his hands on Jones's head, controlling the position.

Jones went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Tate shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Jones taking some punishment here, with Tate in his half guard.
Jones wants to improve his position but Tate is controlling well.
Tate wants to take a breather but Jones is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tate is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Jones wants to get back to his feet.

Tate works his way into side control.
Jones takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Tate lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Tate tries to advance to mount but can't.

Tate tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tate has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Tate throws a strike aimed at the side of Jones's head but Jones avoids it well.
Jones gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jones pushes Tate off and gets back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Tate clinches up against the cage.
Jones misses with a short punch on the inside.
Tate jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jones walks away with a smile on his face. Tate gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Jones gets caught flat footed, as Tate shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jones trying to control the position.
Tate has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Tate works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Tate is working for a submission of some sort.

Tate is trying to work for a kimura but Jones is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones wants to improve his position but Tate is controlling well.
Jones is staying active underneath Tate, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Tate is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jones is just riding it out for now. Tate eventually gives up the hold.
Tate scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Tate is looking for submissions but instead, Jones has regained full guard.
Tate postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Tate throws a big elbow that misses.
Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Tate is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tate trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Tate showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


No luck with that takedown attempt from Jones.
Tate is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Jones shoots in for a double leg but Tate sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Tate tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Tate clinches with his opponent.
Tate drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jones gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Tate can't get the takedown.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A short body shot lands from Jones as the two fighters clinch.
Tate lands a left hand.
Jones tries a body shot but Tate blocks it.

Jones swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Jones pushes Tate back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Tate misses with the head strike.
Jones lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Tate lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Bobby Tate has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jones gets full guard.

Jones is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Tate frees his head nicely. Oh but Jones has switched to an armbar! Tate is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
