Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Salvador Serrano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Ribeiro!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribeiro lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Salvador Serrano has been cut.
Serrano tries to clinch up but Ribeiro circles away and keeps his distance.

Ribeiro clinches.
Ribeiro wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ribeiro's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Serrano keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ribeiro's efforts to push away.
Serrano fails to pull guard.
Ribeiro wants to break the clinch but can't.
Serrano has Ribeiro pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ribeiro manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Serrano wants to take the fight to the mat but Ribeiro manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Salvador Serrano. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Serrano tightens his grip and picks Ribeiro up, before dumping him to the ground. Ribeiro manages to land in guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Ribeiro manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ribeiro is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Serrano is trying to drag Ribeiro to the mat but Ribeiro just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Serrano tries to pull guard but Ribeiro holds him up against the cage and eventually Serrano drops back down to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ribeiro jumps guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ribeiro wants to sweep but no luck.
Serrano lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ribeiro holds on and takes a little breather.

Ribeiro pushes Serrano off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Serrano tries to clinch up but Ribeiro circles away and keeps his distance.
Some wild striking there from Ribeiro.
Serrano fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ribeiro uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Serrano has time to react.
Ribeiro fails to land with a series of punches.
Nice straight punches there by Serrano. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Serrano.

Ribeiro feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Serrano sprawling to the canvas! Serrano rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ribeiro finish him?!


Serrano is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Ribeiro has cracked Serrano with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Ribeiro lands another huge swinging hook and Serrano tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Serrano, before Ribeiro can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Antonio Ribeiro!
