Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Deangelo Garner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcel Ruin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Deangelo Garner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marcel Ruin!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksandr Martynov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ruin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Garner looking for a guillotine here but Ruin defends easily.
Ruin passes into half guard.
Ruin seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Ruin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Garner has his foot on Ruin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ruin works his way back into a safe position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Ruin lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ruin is looking to stall here but Garner recovers full guard.

Garner is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ruin defends well.

Ruin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Garner has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ruin has managed to get both his arms back between Garner's legs - danger averted.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Ruin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Garner to the mat! Garner manages to get full guard.
Ruin advances to half guard.

Garner is in trouble now - Ruin has advanced to mount!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ruin fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcel Ruin dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Ruin drives through with a takedown into Garner's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Garner wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Ruin manages to pass to side control.

Ruin moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Garner.
Garner throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

Marcel Ruin has got the better of the ground game so far.
Ruin is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Garner's shoulder. That is not cool.

Ruin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Garner throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ruin content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Garner is not content to let Ruin control the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Ruin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ruin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Marcel Ruin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Ruin has hold of Garner's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Garner seems comfortable defending it but Ruin has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Garner is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Garner is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Ruin couldn't care less - he's delighted!
