Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Darius Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Soa Palelei!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Kavanagh and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palelei lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Miller moves to clinch but Palelei breaks away
and Palelei counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Miller thinking.
Palelei throws an overhand right that lands on Miller's shoulder, as Miller tries to avoid the shot.
Palelei avoids the body shot from Miller.
Palelei tries a quick counter leg kick but Miller is wise to it.
Palelei swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Miller is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Miller throws a lazy uppercut
and Palelei cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Darius Miller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

It looks like Darius Miller has been cut.

Palelei stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miller swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Palelei accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Miller has one of Palelei's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Palelei working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Miller is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at LOD - Slaughterhouse that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Palelei cracks Miller with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Palelei wants to control the pace but Miller is squirming around nicely.
Palelei has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Palelei fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Miller has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and Palelei counters with a low kick, right behind Miller 's knee.
Palelei throws a wild body kick that Miller sees coming a mile off.
Palelei misses with a head kick.
Palelei throws a poor cross that misses
and Miller counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Palelei lands a body shot.
A clash of legs there as Miller blocks the low kick.
Palelei moves away from the strike by Miller.
Palelei throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Miller sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Palelei lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Palelei throws a good cross that connects.

Miller takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Miller on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Darius Miller is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Miller ducks straight into an uppercut from Palelei and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Miller manages to regain guard straight away.
