Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sakutaro Suenami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Genghis Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sakutaro Suenami!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Genghis Khan!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Khan.
Khan tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Suenami wants to control but Khan postures up.

Khan goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Suenami has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Khan but great work by Suenami.
Khan tries to get back to half guard but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Khan is not content to let Suenami control the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Khan can do anything to dispel that myth.

Suenami tries for a kimura but Khan is defending well.

Khan can't do much from the bottom here.

Suenami decides to stand back up.

Khan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Suenami to the mat! Suenami manages to get full guard.

Suenami is trying to maintain the position but Khan is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Khan is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Suenami has managed to free his arm - good work.

Khan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Khan is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Suenami still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Suenami has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Suenami is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Khan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Khan wants to get back to his feet.
A control attempt from Khan but he's now mounted!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Khan tries to lock up and control but Suenami gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Suenami working for a guillotine from mount but Khan is in no mood to give up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sakutaro Suenami will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Khan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Suenami did well to prevent Khan getting side control.

Khan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Khan goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Suenami has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Khan but great work by Suenami.

Khan wants to control but Suenami is having none of it.
Khan might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Suenami haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Suenami has control of Khan's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Khan regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Khan wants to hold on but Suenami pushes him away.

Suenami goes for an armbar but Khan turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Khan.
Khan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Suenami is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Suenami controls Khan momentarily but Khan frees himself.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Khan stands and steps away. Suenami gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Khan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Suenami's guard.
Genghis Khan has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Khan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Suenami looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Suenami looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Suenami!

You can see the frustration on Khan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Suenami is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Khan has escaped the position, nice work there.
Khan wants to control but Suenami postures up.
Khan gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Khan wants to control but Suenami is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Khan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Suenami pulls his head out easily.

Suenami is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Genghis Khan will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Genghis Khan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Suenami wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Suenami sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Khan is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Suenami swings around for an armbar but Khan sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Suenami's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Khan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Suenami wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Khan is now in half guard.

Khan seems to be working for a kimura but Suenami defends the submission attempt.
Khan is trying to control the action in half guard but Suenami is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Khan wants to pass the guard but Suenami is defending well.

Suenami is staying active underneath Khan, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Genghis Khan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Khan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
