The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawada fails with an attempt to clinch.
No luck for Filgueiras with that takedown attempt.
Kawada defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Filgueiras.
Filgueiras circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kawada has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Filgueiras is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Kawada is looking to clinch.
Filgueiras half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Kawada tries to close the distance and clinch but Filgueiras swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Filgueiras fails to land the takedown.

Filgueiras blocks a head kick by Kawada.
Kawada shoots for a double leg takedown but Filgueiras sprawls well. He's pushed Kawada's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Filgueiras throws a series of punches but Kawada avoids them all with ease.
Filgueiras fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kawada avoids it really well and circles away.

Filgueiras tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kawada tries to score a power double leg takedown but Filgueiras sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kawada somewhat.
Kawada closes the distance and clinches up with Filgueiras, looking for a takedown. Kawada pushes Filgueiras against the cage but Filgueiras circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Filgueiras is looking to cinch up a triangle. Kawada throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Filgueiras's body to avoid the submission. Filgueiras has instead reached around Kawada's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Filgueiras arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
