Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Logan Mitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Staunton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Steve Staunton was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Logan Mitchell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steve Staunton!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staunton closes the distance but Mitchell moves to the side
and Mitchell cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Mitchell lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Staunton circles away quickly and effectively.
Staunton lands a jab to the head.


It looks like Logan Mitchell has been cut.
A telegraphed right hand from Staunton misses the target.
A counter left hand to the body from Mitchell misses its target.
Mitchell takes one on the button.
Mitchell drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Mitchell scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Mitchell tries to keep at a distance but Staunton has taken the fight into the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Staunton creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mitchell is looking to break free of the clinch but Staunton has double underhooks.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Mitchell.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Mitchell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Staunton is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mitchell.
Staunton takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Staunton pivots, looking for a leg kick but Mitchell is out of range and Staunton settles back down.
Staunton does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
A little feinted left hand from Mitchell on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Staunton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mitchell.
Staunton raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Staunton moves in looking to clinch but Mitchell pushes him off.

Staunton closes the distance and clinches.
Mitchell blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Come on Staunton - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Staunton feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Mitchell's calf.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Staunton takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Mitchell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Staunton in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
