The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lamel is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Atunes.
Atunes jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Luther Lamel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Atunes throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Atunes digs a good hook to Lamel's body.
Lamel lands a nice shot that snaps Atunes's head back.
Atunes drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Lamel catches Atunes with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Atunes lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Lamel throws a looping overhand right but Atunes ducks down to avoid it.
Lamel misses with a looping right.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lamel avoids a kick to the body.
Atunes defending well as Lamel loads up on a big left hand.
Atunes on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Lamel lands a body shot.
Atunes drops his hands momentarily and Lamel takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
That kick from Atunes tenderised Lamel's leg. Lamel is trying to keep his angry face on.

Atunes slips a jab from Lamel.
Atunes ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Lamel cracks Atunes with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

and Atunes counters with a body kick that stops Lamel in his tracks momentarily.

Atunes connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Atunes lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Luther Lamel has been cut.
Lamel might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Atunes buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Atunes swings widly with a right hand
and Lamel counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Lamel throws a looping overhand right but Atunes ducks down to avoid it.
Lamel connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Atunes momentarily.

Atunes displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lamel throws out the jab.

and Atunes counters with a low kick, right behind Lamel 's knee.
Lamel swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lamel throws a body shot but no joy.
Atunes lands a brutal head kick. Lamel looks out on his feet and Atunes throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
