Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sea Kayak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyman Kissell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lyman Kissell has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sea Kayak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Lyman Kissell!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kayak ducks under a wild hook from Kissell.
It looked like Kayak wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Kissell blocks a leg kick.
Kayak looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Kayak throws out a leg kick but Kissell moves out of range and Kayak only half commits.
Kayak slips a jab from Kissell.
Kayak attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Kayak fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kissell, pushing him back against the cage.
Kayak lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Kissell pulls guard successfully.
Kayak's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Kissell lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Kissell pushes down on Kayak's leg and manages to get into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kayak has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kissell is working away from the top position though.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kissell is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kayak is trying to control but can't.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kissell connects with a nice short shot to Kayak's temple.
Kissell lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Kissell scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Kayak knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kissell on the ground.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kissell connects with a nice short shot to Kayak's temple.

Kayak looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kissell lands a nice short elbow.
Kissell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kayak has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kissell is working away from the top position though.

Kissell moves into full mount! Kayak won't be happy about that!
Kayak is squirming around, avoiding Kissell's attempts to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kissell lands a big shot there that rocks Kayak but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Kayak wants to control but Kissell is having none of it.
Kayak is looking to improve his position but Kissell isn't that keen on the idea.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kayak is working hard here to advance position.
Kissell landing punches.
Kayak keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Kayak is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Kayak is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kissell cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Kissell scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Kayak?
The referee warns Kayak that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Kissell is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Kayak is forced to tap! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Lyman Kissell!
