The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A right-left combo lands from Stith.
A combination from Stith does no damage.
Stith stuffs the takedown attempt from Rodriguez. Rodriguez gets slowly back to his feet.
Stith is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown but Stith shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Stith looks to land a combination but Rodriguez avoids it well.
Stith takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Stith lands with a nice combination. Rodriguez backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Ligerito Rodriguez has been cut.
Stith misses with a wild combination.
Stith throws a right hand that Rodriguez ducks under and follows up with a left that Rodriguez also avoids with ease.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Stith napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Stith wants to get back to his feet but Rodriguez drags him back down.
Rodriguez looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Stith is avoiding damage well.
Stith wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stith can do anything to dispel that myth.

Rodriguez has an Americana. Stith didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Rodriguez is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Rodriguez hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
