Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pablo Pablos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bryan Gracie has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Pablo Pablos's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 25 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pablo Pablos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bryan Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Anthony Taglia and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pablos closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Pablos slows the pace down in half guard.
Gracie wants to control but Pablos is keeping busy.
Pablos is taking a breather. Gracie says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Gracie is trying to control but can't.
Pablos works his way into full mount!

Pablos has hold of Gracie's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Gracie manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pablos looking to control but Gracie is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Gracie tries to hold on but Pablos pushes him away.

Pablos is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Gracie has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Pablos moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Gracie has worked his arm free - good work by Gracie!
Gracie is looking to regain half guard here but Pablos keeps moving and retains side control.
Pablos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gracie keeps working.
Pablos tries to advance to mount but can't.
Pablos is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Pablos uses his free foot to push down on Gracie's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gracie.

Pablos remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Pablos is staying tight to Gracie's torso, preventing him from escaping.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Gracie gets caught flat footed, as Pablos shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie controls Pablos momentarily but Pablos frees himself.
Pablos trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pablos is fighting to break Gracie's control of his arms but Gracie is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Pablos slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Pablos might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Gracie is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pablos controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Gracie pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Pablos is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gracie's half guard.
Gracie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pablos is working away from the top position though.

Pablos goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Gracie rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Pablos's guard! Nice work there by Gracie!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pablos swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gracie is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Pablos had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gracie defends it easily.
Gracie trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Pablo Pablos overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Pablos is retaining full guard.
Pablos is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Pablos wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gracie, who protects the arm well.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pablos, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
