Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eliseo Schultz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larry Lobov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eliseo Schultz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Larry Lobov!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Vladimir Khabensky and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lobov gets a clinch.
A right handed body shot lands from Lobov.
Schultz fails to pull guard.

Lobov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Schultz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Larry Lobov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lobov drives through with a takedown into Schultz's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Schultz has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Lobov off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Schultz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Lobov clinches.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Schultz has had enough of the clinch but Lobov keeps him there for the moment.

Lobov turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Lobov manages to end up in side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
You can see the frustration on Schultz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Lobov works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

The referee asks Lobov politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Lobov prefers to stall for the moment though.

Schultz tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lobov controlling his opponent.
Let's hope that Lobov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Schultz wants to hold on but Lobov pushes him away.
Lobov sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
You get the feeling that Schultz really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Lobov avoids the attempt from Schultz to control.

Lobov with shots to the head and body - Schultz looks very uncomfortable down there.
Schultz is controlling an arm, preventing Lobov from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Lobov working for a submission but Schultz is keeping him at bay.

Lobov is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Schultz to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Schultz shrugs it off.

Lobov goes for an armbar but Schultz turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Schultz.
Lobov lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lobov is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Schultz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lobov controls the pace.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lobov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Schultz is looking to stand up but Lobov isn't so interested in that idea.
Lobov looking to sit in guard and control but Schultz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Schultz tries to keep at a distance but Lobov has taken the fight into the clinch.
Schultz is trying to break free.
Schultz has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Schultz is trying to break the clinch but Lobov is controlling him.
Schultz throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Lobov lands a hook that snaps the head of Schultz backwards.
Schultz fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Lobov lands a nice shot to the body.
Lobov lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Schultz is trying to pull guard but Lobov has him pressed against the cage.

Lobov has picked Schultz up - he's going for a ride! Lobov dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Lobov stands up and beckons Schultz to join him on the feet.

Lobov has closed the distance and engaged Schultz in a clinch.
Lobov has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Schultz looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Lobov landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lobov has Schultz pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Lobov pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Schultz tumbling to the mat - Lobov dives into Schultz's guard.
Schultz is wriggling around but Lobov manages to pass to half guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Lobov winds up and cracks Schultz with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Schultz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lobov is working away from the top position though.
Lobov is trying to control. Schultz wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Lobov passes the guard and advances to mount!

Larry Lobov has got the better of the ground game so far.
Lobov is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Schultz tries to hold on but Lobov pushes him away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lobov can't control as he wanted to and Schultz manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Lobov is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Lobov stands up from half guard.

Lobov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Schultz's guard.
Lobov looking to sit in guard and control but Schultz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Larry Lobov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Schultz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lobov defends well.

Schultz slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Lobov prevents Schultz from getting back to his feet.
Lobov wants to control from the top but Schultz keeps moving.

Schultz wants to sweep here but Lobov controlling him for the moment.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Lobov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Schultz is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Lobov presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Schultz tries to pull guard but Lobov won't allow it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lobov lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Schultz creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Lobov digs a right hand underneath Schultz's ribcage. Schultz let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Schultz has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Lobov scores with a hook to the body.
Schultz throws a head punch that misses.

Lobov has clasped his hands together around Schultz's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Schultz explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Eliseo Schultz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lobov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Schultz pulls Lobov in to control the position.

Lobov won't allow Schultz to sweep him here.
Lobov stays in close to Schultz's body and controls the position.
Lobov would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
No joy there for Lobov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
An attempted straight right counter from Schultz misses the target.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Larry Lobov.
Well Lobov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
