Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harry Owen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Marfaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Juan Marfaker!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, John Mangel and Darius Henderson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marfaker misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Owen has his takedown stuffed
and Marfaker counters with a nice uppercut.
Marfaker throws a shot from downtown. Owen moves away and avoids it.
Owen attempts a counter takedown but Marfaker avoids it well and moves away.
Owen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Marfaker keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Owen shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Owen showed some decent athleticism there.

Owen is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Marfaker is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Owen is looking for a kimura but Marfaker is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Owen to get the leverage.

Marfaker wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Owen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Owen throws an elbow that misses. Marfaker uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Owen's guard. Nice move by Marfaker!

Owen is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Marfaker defends well.
Marfaker is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Owen is looking for a triangle here but Marfaker uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Marfaker's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Owen tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Marfaker wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Marfaker is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Owen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Owen manages to get back to half guard.
Owen is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Marfaker jumps into side control!
Marfaker has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Owen!
Owen is desperately trying to improve his position but Marfaker has a good base and remains in mount.

Owen tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Owen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Marfaker sprawls well. Marfaker wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Owen gets slowly back to his feet.
Marfaker has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Owen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Marfaker but Marfaker pushes him off and we're back to square one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marfaker throws a nice inside leg kick.
Marfaker is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Owen.
Marfaker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Owen was well out of range. Poor timing from Marfaker.
Marfaker looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Owen has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Owen there as he acknowledges the shot.

Owen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Marfaker as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Harry Owen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A shot to the liver by Marfaker. Beautiful body shot.
Good leg kick by Marfaker there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Owen shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Marfaker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Marfaker wants it to stay on the feet.
Owen shoots in for a double leg but Marfaker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Marfaker drops Owen with a straight right hand, right on the button! Marfaker follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
