Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Parker Michaels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pootie Tang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tang is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Pootie Tang. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Parker Michaels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pootie Tang!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tang uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Michaels.
Tang feints the counter takedown.

Michaels closes the distance and clinches.

Michaels breaks the clinch.
Michaels throws a good cross that connects.

Michaels clinches.
Michaels scores with a shot to the side of Tang's head.
Michaels scores with a nice hook to the head.
Tang has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Michaels is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Michaels.

Michaels escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Tang tries to keep at a distance but Michaels has taken the fight into the clinch.

Michaels's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Michaels throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Tang on the side of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Michaels clinches up with Tang and pushes him back against the cage.
Tang wants a takedown but no success here.

Horrible takedown attempt by Michaels or perhaps it was just good defense by Tang, which made it look bad.
Michaels lands with a straight right. Tang didn't see that one coming.
Michaels lands a really nice looking cross but Tang seems unphased.
Tang tries to clinch but Michaels is having none of it.

Michaels moves into the clinch successfully.
Michaels is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Tang pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Tang is trying to drag Michaels to the mat but Michaels just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Parker Michaels has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pootie Tang.
Michaels digs a right hand into Tang's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Tang's gas tank.

Michaels moves in looking to clinch but Tang pushes him off.
And Tang tries to counter it with a takedown but Michaels pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Michaels works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Tang looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Michaels is fending him off so far but Tang persists. Nope, Michaels circles away and we're back to standing.
Michaels tries to clinch up but Tang circles away and keeps his distance.
Tang wants to counter the offense by Michaels and move into the clinch position.
A head kick misses from Tang.
Tang shoots in for a takedown but Michaels shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Michaels looks to land a left hand but Tang moved out of range nicely.

Michaels darts in and clinches Tang up against the cage.
Michaels tries to work over Tang's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Michaels pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Tang tries to close the distance and clinch up but Michaels swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tang misses the shot to the body.

Tang tries to keep at a distance but Michaels has taken the fight into the clinch.
A body shot lands from Michaels.
Tang tries for a takedown. No joy.
Tang blocks a body shot from Michaels.

Michaels lands a shot to the body.
Michaels is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Michaels breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Michaels moves into the clinch.
Michaels tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Tang's elbow.

Michaels pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Tang throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Michaels was covering up waiting for the punch and Tang finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Michaels has his hands on Tang's head, controlling the position.
Michaels keeping moving, preventing Tang from controlling successfully.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Tang is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Tang avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Tang working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Tang drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Michaels dives on top into guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tang takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Michaels gets a clinch.

Michaels breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Parker Michaels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice sprawl there from Michaels as Tang shoots in.
Michaels lunges at Tang with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Tang's hand.

Michaels keeps control of Tang as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Michaels is pressed up against the cage. Tang has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Michaels down to the mat. Michaels avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Michaels can't find room to land a body shot as Tang controls the action.

Michaels is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tang can do to turn this around?

Michaels scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Tang has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Michaels wants to pass to mount but Tang is defending the position.
Michaels is just content to waste time from the top position. Tang takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Tang is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Tang looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Michaels is defending against the submission attempts here by Tang.
Michaels is looking to control Tang's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Michaels avoid being mounted?

The fighters are battling for position here. Michaels manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tang dives in and grabs Michaels's left leg, looking for a takedown. Michaels pushes down on Tang's head and hops out.
Michaels looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Tang takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Michaels is looking to clinch but Tang is avoiding it.

Tang throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Michaels tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tang is in Michaels's guard.
Michaels bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tang's guard.

Michaels's corner is telling him to maintain position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Michaels stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tang swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Tang is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Michaels is aware though and is defending well.

Michaels got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tang has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Michaels has managed to get both his arms back between Tang's legs - danger averted.

Tang had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Michaels defends it easily.

Tang is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Michaels is aware though and is defending well.
Tang takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Michaels is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Michaels stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Tang throws up his legs and catches Michaels in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Michaels tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Tang! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Pootie Tang!
An out of breath Pootie Tang thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
