Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tino Kallio and Freddy White. Kallio comes to the cage accompanied by Atomic Rooster - Death Walks Behind You. Tino Kallio has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 wins, 7 losses and 1 draws, fighting out of Hilo, Tino Kallio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 wins, 13 losses and 4 draws, fighting out of Hilo, Freddy White!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kallio misses with a takedown

and White counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Kallio goes for a takedown attempt but White pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kallio throws a head kick that White semi-blocks.
That kick from White tenderised Kallio's leg. Kallio is trying to keep his angry face on.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if White can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

White really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kallio. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

White stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Kallio closes the distance and clinches up with White, looking for a takedown. Kallio pushes White against the cage but White circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kallio.
Nice sprawl there from White as Kallio shoots in.
And White tries to counter it with a takedown but Kallio pushes his down on his head and steps out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Freddy White dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Kallio tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but White defends well and Kallio ends up having to push White into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
White has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kallio has been working on his balance at Island Warriors -13 ELITE Coaches, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by White.
Kallio is trying to work for a single leg takedown but White pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Tino Kallio overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Kallio changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. White looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

White fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kallio has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Freddy White showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Kallio is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but White still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, White has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

I would just about give that final round to Freddy White.
Well White has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
