Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Gattis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hugo Chavez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gattis throws a series of punches but Chavez moves out of range.

Chavez shoots in for a double leg but Gattis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Chavez isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Gattis stacks Chavez on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Gattis!

Gattis ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Chavez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gattis was covering up waiting for the punch and Chavez finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Chavez drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gattis manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Chavez has Gattis in his guard.

Chavez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gattis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
