Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ronald Schultz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cerrone Clark!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schultz lands a front kick.
Clark with a poor takedown
enabling Schultz to counter with a crisp jab.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Schultz is defended easily by Clark.
Clark wants to counter with a clinch but Schultz pushes him away.
Schultz scores with a push kick.

and Clark counters by moving into the clinch.
Clark is trying to pull guard but Schultz has him pressed against the cage.
Clark jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Schultz walks away with a smile on his face. Clark gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ronald Schultz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cerrone Clark.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Schultz stuns Clark with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Clark tries to close the distance and clinch up but Schultz swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Schultz shoots in looking for a takedown but Clark manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Schultz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Clark bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Clark moves into the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Clark jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Schultz walks away with a smile on his face. Clark gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

No joy there for Clark, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Schultz shoots in but no luck this time.
Clark dives in and grabs Schultz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Schultz pushes down on Clark's head and hops out.

Clark instigates a clinch.

Clark pulls guard.
Schultz preventing the sweep.
Schultz trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Schultz trying to control but Clark is working from the bottom.

Clark is working an open guard so Schultz takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Clark or perhaps it was just good defense by Schultz, which made it look bad.

Schultz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Schultz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Clark as he avoids it easily.

Clark drives through with a takedown into guard.

Schultz manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Clark gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Schultz.
Clark is trying to pull guard but Schultz turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Clark - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Schultz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Schultz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Schultz drops down looking for a counter takedown but Clark sprawls and moves away.

Clark tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Schultz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Clark leaves Schultz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Schultz darts in looking for a takedown but Clark gets double underhooks and turns Schultz into the cage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Cerrone Clark showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

Schultz putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Clark in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Schultz shoots for a takedown but Clark saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Schultz shoots in and drives through. Clark sprawls well.

Clark moves into the clinch.

Schultz jumps guard and drags Clark to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Clark must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Clark keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Schultz's head.
Clark is pushing down on Schultz's leg trying to pass to half guard. Schultz is fighting to maintain full guard but Clark has managed to sneak the leg through.

Clark is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Schultz defends it well.
Clark content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Schultz wants to control but Clark is keeping busy.
Schultz is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Clark's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Clark's back!
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Schultz's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
