The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heimolainen lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Heimolainen has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Heimolainen misses with a right hand
and Ruxpin counters with a thumping low kick.
Heimolainen misses with a hook. Ruxpin ducked under it nicely.
Ruxpin thuds a left hand into Heimolainen's body.
Ruxpin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Heimolainen, pushing him back against the cage.
Ruxpin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ruxpin gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Oooooh!!! Heimolainen has knocked Ruxpin down with a huge combo! Heimolainen steps away and waves a wobbly Ruxpin back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Ruxpin is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ruxpin tries to close the distance and clinch but Heimolainen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ruxpin is still on wobbly legs! Can Heimolainen finish him?
Ruxpin fails in his attempt to clinch.
Heimolainen closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Ruxpin out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Erkki Heimolainen!
Our winner, Erkki Heimolainen, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
