Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Quin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hektor Troy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quin comes to the cage accompanied by Captain Jack - Iko Iko. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Quin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 40 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hektor Troy!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Troy sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Quin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Troy missing with a left hand there. Quin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Troy throws a front kick that sends Quin stumbling back into the cage.
Quin loads up on a big right hand but Troy slips the punch.
Troy looks to land a body kick but Quin moved away.
Troy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Good exchange - Troy coming out on top.
Troy keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Troy scores with a head kick.
Nice straight punches there by Quin. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Quin.
Troy has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Troy throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Quin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Troy circles away quickly and effectively.
Troy throws a lazy right hand but Quin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Troy thows a left - swing and a miss!
Quin darts in looking for a takedown but Troy gets double underhooks and turns Quin into the cage.

Troy misses with a body kick.
Quin misses with a looping right.
Quin takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Quin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Matt Quin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Quin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Troy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Troy blocks a jab.
A swing and a miss from Quin.
Hektor Troy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Troy throws out a leg kick but Quin moves out of range and Troy only half commits.
Troy throws a right hand that misses

and Quin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Quin won't allow Troy to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Quin trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Quin with a nice head shot there.
Troy is controlling Quin's posture.
Quin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Quin throws a big right hand that misses.
Quin forces his way into half guard.
Quin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Nice strikes from Quin there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Quin is working for a kimura but Troy is defending it quite comfortably.
Troy is trying to stand back up but Quin is controlling him
We've been hearing that Quin has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Quin is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Quin works his way into side control.
Troy is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Quin tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Quin misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Quin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Troy, who protects the arm well.
Quin tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Troy tries to buck Quin off but Quin is having none of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A bit of a lull in the action here.
Quin lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Troy down.
Quin is looking to take a break and control but Troy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matt Quin dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Troy misses with a straight left.
Troy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Quin moves away.
Quin lands with a shot to the body.
Troy misses with a kick to the body.
Quin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Troy keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Quin.
Troy blocks a jab.
Troy looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Quin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Troy can do to turn this around?
Troy connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

A big right from Troy misses.
Quin dodges the punch combination from Troy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Quin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Troy.
A little feinted left hand from Quin on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
The crowd cheers as Quin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Troy doesn't seem phased though.
Hektor Troy seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Troy fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Quin.

Quin takes a swing at Troy's ribcage but misses.
Troy tries a head kick but it misses.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Quin, as that shot connected.
Troy misses with a low kick.
Troy tries a head kick but it misses.
Quin scores with a jab to the head.
Quin slips under a jab from Troy.
Quin goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Quin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Troy moves away.
Quin misses the jab.
Quin lands a lovely overhand right.
Troy takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Troy tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Quin is able to avoid easily.
A nice inside leg kick there by Troy. That's going to slow Quin down.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Troy throws out a powerful jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Troy walks into a left hand.
Quin avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Troy drops his hands momentarily and Quin takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Quin connects with a body shot that sends Troy's belly button to the back.
Troy throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Quin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Quin bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Troy moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Troy takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Troy slips under a jab from Quin.
Quin tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Troy defends well and Quin ends up having to push Troy into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Quin throws out a loose jab but Troy uses good head movement to avoid it.
Troy tries to land a front kick but Quin steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Troy ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Quin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Troy.
Troy throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Quin sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Quin cracks Troy with a right hand to the side of the head.
Quin misses with a straight left.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Troy! But no joy.
Quin tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Troy defends well and Quin ends up having to push Troy into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Quin lands a glancing blow to the side of Troy's head.
Quin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Troy moves away.
A decent looking cross lands there for Quin.
Quin throws a jab when Troy was well out of range.
Troy jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Quin is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Troy takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Quin lands with a hook. Troy tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Quin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Troy.
Troy throws the left hand but Quin avoids the punch easily.
Troy throws a shot from downtown. Quin moves away and avoids it.

Quin has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Troy.
Quin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Quin tries for a takedown but Troy sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Troy looks like he wants to counter punch here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Quin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Troy swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Troy is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Quin throws a right hand that misses
and Troy counters with a right hand to the body.
Quin lands with a cross.
Quin scores with a decent looking hook.
Quin is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Quin looks to land a right hand but Troy moved out of range.
Donk. Troy catches Quin right on the button with a cross.
Troy avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Troy lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Troy throws a sloppy head kick and Quin moves out of range easily.
The fighters circle momentarily. Quin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Troy connects with a good right hand that stumbles Quin. Quin circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Quin looks to land a left hand but Troy moved out of range nicely.
Troy wants to counter with a clinch but Quin pushes him away.
Quin misses with a straight left.
A head kick misses from Troy.
Troy dodges the punch combination from Quin.
Troy scores with a crisp jab that stopped Quin in his tracks.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Troy tries to counter by closing the distance.

Quin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Troy did well to prevent Quin getting side control.

Troy manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Quin keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Quin goes for a takedown attempt but Troy pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Quin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Troy moves away.
Troy throws the left hand but Quin avoids the punch easily.
Quin is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Quin connects with a good right hand that stumbles Troy. Troy circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Troy is looking to score with low kicks.

Quin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Troy is fending him off so far but Quin persists. Nope, Troy circles away and we're back to standing.
Troy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Quin throws out the jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Troy bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Quin's head.
Troy throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Quin sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Troy has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

A jab from Quin finds it's way through Troy's defenses.
Quin moves out of range of the body kick.
Quin throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Quin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Quin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Quin gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Quin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Troy has hold of Quin's hands but Quin slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Quin not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Troy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Quin passes into side control, despite Troy's attempt to control the position.
Troy prevents Quin from improving position.
Troy tries to bench press Quin off him but Quin keeps the position.
Hektor Troy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Troy is trying to control Quin's posture but Quin avoids it.
Troy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Quin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Troy taking punishment in the form of punches.

Troy can't do much from the bottom here.

Quin tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Quin is chipping away with strikes.
Quin tries to advance to mount but Troy instead regains half guard.
Troy trying to hold on to Quin's head to control him but Quin postures up.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Hektor Troy.
I think Quin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
