PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doomsday Drost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jt Colossus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drost comes to the cage accompanied by Kilpi - Sielut Iskee Tulta. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 20 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Doomsday Drost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 55 - 43 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jt Colossus!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Colossus tries to clinch
and Drost counters with a three punch combo that has Colossus backing up. Colossus nods at Drost to acknowledge the strikes.
Drost steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Colossus.
Colossus keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Drost.
It seemed like Colossus was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Drost cracks Colossus with a right hand to the side of the head.
Colossus lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.


It looks like Doomsday Drost has been cut.

Colossus moves into the clinch successfully.
Colossus misses with a short punch on the inside.
Drost leaning his opponent against the cage.
Drost is looking to control Colossus's arms but Colossus gets an underhook and turns him. Now Drost has his back to the cage.
Colossus swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Drost softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Drost stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
A head punch on the inside from Colossus fails to land.
Drost throws a punch but it's blocked by Colossus.
Colossus lands with a right to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Drost stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Drost is looking to control Colossus's arms but Colossus gets an underhook and turns him. Now Drost has his back to the cage.
Drost has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Colossus tries to throw a body punch but Drost avoids it by throwing Colossus back against the cage.
Colossus tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Drost makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Colossus.
Drost stalling in the clinch but Colossus improves position.

Drost has picked Colossus up - he's going for a ride! Drost dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Drost trying to work for an americana but Colossus has managed to regain full guard.
Drost looking to sit in guard and control but Colossus gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Colossus is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Colossus won't allow Drost to sweep him here.
Drost will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Colossus got a little sloppy there for a moment and Drost has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Colossus has managed to get both his arms back between Drost's legs - danger averted.

Drost looking for a sweep. Not yet Drost, not yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Drost is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Colossus trying to control the position from guard on top but Drost is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Drost is trying to keep Colossus in close.
Colossus wants to control from the top but Drost keeps moving.
Drost looking for a sweep. Not yet Drost, not yet.

Colossus stopping the sweep attempt from Drost.
Drost wants to hit a switch here but Colossus passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Drost there!
Drost is squirming around, avoiding Colossus's attempts to control the action.
Drost wants to control but Colossus is having none of it.
Drost is in all sorts of trouble here.

Drost is hanging on here. He's in a desperate position.
Drost keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Colossus thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Drost sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Drost is looking for a sweep. Colossus is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Doomsday Drost will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Doomsday Drost's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Colossus avoids the body shot from Drost.
It seemed like Colossus was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Drost connects with a right hand. Colossus shakes it off.

Colossus has closed the distance and engaged Drost in a clinch.
Colossus tries to work over Drost's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Colossus doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Drost lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Colossus backwards.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Colossus.
A short left from Drost.
Drost swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Colossus tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Colossus throws a punch but it's blocked by Drost.
Drost misses with a hook to the ribs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Drost misses with a hook from the clinch.

Colossus is breathing heavily.
A short left from Drost.
Colossus fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Drost working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Colossus has a couple of punches blocked by Drost.

Drost can't find room to land a body shot as Colossus controls the action.
Colossus fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Drost blocks an uppercut.

Drost has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Colossus after a bit of a struggle.

Jt Colossus seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Drost creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Drost ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Drost no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Drost wants to sweep here but Colossus controlling him for the moment.
Drost is working hard here to advance position.

Doomsday Drost overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Drost tries to get to full guard but Colossus has control of the leg.

Drost is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Colossus's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Colossus's back!

Drost is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Colossus up.
Colossus trying to control the hands but Drost breaks the grip.
Colossus breaks Drost's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Drost is on top in guard.

Drost slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Drost loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Colossus closes the distance but Drost moves to the side

and Drost counters with a beautiful punch that sends Colossus to the canvas!


Colossus is rocked!
Drost postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Colossus covers up, he's hurt! Drost keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Drost and the ref steps in to end the fight! Drost can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Doomsday Drost!
During a confident post fight interview, Doomsday Drost thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
The defeated Jt Colossus had this to say: 'I want to thank GAMMA for being an amazing organization and I want to thank my opponent for knocking me to kingdom come. '.
