Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jim Keller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Diogo Lopes!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lopes.
Lopes shoots in and drives through. Keller sprawls well.
Keller drops Lopes with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Lopes looks back up at him and smiles so Keller waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Lopes is rocked!
It looks like Diogo Lopes has been cut.
Keller has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA Tokyo in the buildup to the fight.
Lopes swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Keller counters by moving into the clinch.
Keller breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Keller has taken the fight to the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lopes tries to pull guard but Keller holds him up against the ropes and eventually Lopes drops back down to his feet.
Jim Keller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diogo Lopes.
Lopes goes for a takedown in the clinch but Keller prevents it.
Keller breaks from the clinch.
Lopes throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Keller was covering up waiting for the punch and Lopes finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Keller is looking for a triangle but Lopes pushes his legs off easily.

Lopes wants to pass the guard but Keller is keeping the position.
Keller is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lopes trying to control the position from guard on top but Keller is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lopes pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Keller is keeping the position for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lopes postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Keller is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lopes, into his guard.
Lopes keeping moving, preventing Keller from controlling successfully.
Lopes is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Keller defends well.
Lopes is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lopes is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Lopes has an active guard here but Keller has managed to pass into half guard.
Lopes is not content to let Keller control the position.
Lopes looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Keller is thwarting Lopes's attempts to control the position.
Keller lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Lopes is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Keller is tapping! Great win for Lopes!
