PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Masa Mune (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heng Keo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Keo has chosen Ich Will - Rammstein as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Heng Keo will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Masa Mune!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Heng Keo!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mune scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Keo is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Keo tries to clinch but Mune is having none of it.
Mune swats away the attempt to clinch by Keo.
Keo wants to clinch up but Mune keeps it at a distance.
Keo tries to clinch but Mune moves out of range.
Heng Keo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mune takes a swing at Keo's ribcage but misses.

Keo darts in and clinches Mune up against the cage.
Mune prevents the takedown attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mune stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Keo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mune is pushing down on Keo's leg trying to pass to half guard. Keo is fighting to maintain full guard but Mune has managed to sneak the leg through.
Keo tries to roll over but Mune keeps him under control.

Mune lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Keo is staying active underneath Mune, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Keo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mune pulls his head out easily.
Keo is not content to let Mune control the position.
Mune landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Keo tries to get to full guard but Mune has control of the leg.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Keo is looking to improve his position.

Mune working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mune lands a nice short elbow.
Keo is staying active underneath Mune, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Mune looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Keo is in trouble now - Mune has advanced to mount!

Mune connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Keo keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Keo taking shots to the head.
Mune has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Keo is working to get back to half guard.
Mune fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Masa Mune dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Mune gets tackled into the cage by Keo. Keo maintains the clinch.

Keo has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Mune is trying to keep an underhook but Keo manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Keo is keen to just control but Mune is a slippery customer.

Mune got a little sloppy there for a moment and Keo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mune has managed to get both his arms back between Keo's legs - danger averted.
Mune lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Keo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mune defends well.
Mune might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Mune connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Keo some visible discomfort.
Mune cracks Keo with a big elbow.

Mune scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Keo is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Mune can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
