Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jong Un Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Blake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Blake's choice of entrance music: Dead Man. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jong Un Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, William Blake!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim swings away with a leg kick that misses.
A big right from Kim misses.
Blake will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kim misses with a low kick as Blake jumps back.

Blake drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Blake fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Kim gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Blake is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kim keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Blake seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kim does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Blake working his ground and pound in the gym.

Kim seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Kim looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Blake has picked Kim up and slammed him! Kim can't keep hold of the triangle and Blake manages to pass to side control!

Blake is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kim has hold of Blake's hands but Blake slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Blake is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Kim reverses the position - he's now on top in Blake's guard.
Blake looking for a sweep. Not yet Blake, not yet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kim controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Blake looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kim is one step ahead there.

William Blake dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Blake moves out of range of the strikes.
Blake appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Blake uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kim.
Blake throws out a counter right but Kim avoids it with no problem.

It looks like William Blake has been cut.
Blake just misses with a punch to the body.
Kim keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
It looked like Kim was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Blake.
Kim thows a left - swing and a miss!

Blake lands a nice hook to Kim's body. Kim takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Kim thuds his right hand into Blake's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Blake looks to land a right hand but Kim moved out of range.
Blake takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
It seemed like Blake was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
The fighters circling - Blake throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kim goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Kim swings for the body but Blake moves out of range.
Jong Un Kim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Blake darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kim takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Blake on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kim. Kim obviously looking to wear him down.

Kim stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kim wants it to stay on the feet.
Kim was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Blake moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kim looks to land a body kick but Blake moved away.
Blake bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kim's head backwards.
Blake tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kim defends well and Blake ends up having to push Kim into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Kim uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Blake loads up on a big right hand but Kim slips the punch.
Kim tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Blake drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Kim defends it well.
Nice defenses there by Kim.
Blake keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Blake connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Kim momentarily.
No joy there for Blake, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kim jabs Blake right on the nose. Blake blinks but takes it well.
Kim connects with a good right hand that stumbles Blake. Blake circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jong Un Kim will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on William Blake's cut.
That's time! Kim's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Kim fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Blake has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Kim lands a nice looking kick to the body. Blake takes a step back to recover.
Kim bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Blake throws a shot from downtown. Kim moves away and avoids it.

and Blake connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Blake ducks under a wild hook from Kim.

Kim appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Jong Un Kim is winning the standup battle so far.
Blake comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Kim throws a leg kick but Blake checks it.
Kim misses with a looping right.

Blake shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Blake showed some decent athleticism there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Blake looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Kim uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Blake.

Blake's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jong Un Kim.
I think Kim has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
