Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chris Part!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dai Evans!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Evans clinches up against the cage.
Part is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Evans is keeping busy.
Evans throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Parts head.
Part misses with a punch on the inside.
Evans scores with a shot to the side of Part's head.

Part has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Evans is trying to keep an underhook but Part manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Part controlling the pace.
Part seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Evans does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Part slows the pace down in half guard.
Evans is trying to stand.
Part trying to mount his opponent but Evans defends it.
Part is keen to just control but Evans is a slippery customer.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Part seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Evans wants to get back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Dai Evans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Part scores with a kick to the midsection.

Evans rushes Part and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Part lands a nice shot to the body.
Evans working aggressively here.
Part missing with knees to the body.
Evans gets through Part's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Evans throws a head punch that misses.

Part breaks the clinch.
Dai Evans is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Evans gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Part has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Evans avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Evans misses with a body punch.
Part lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Part gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Part is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Evans is defending well.

Evans's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Part has closed the distance and engaged Evans in a clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Evans avoiding damage as Part throws knees to the body.
Evans tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Evans breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Part instigates a clinch.
Evans gets underhooks to prevent Part's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Part. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Evans doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Part is trying to push Evans away but Evans has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Part pushes off an throws an elbow but Evans leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Part escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Part blocks a jab.

Part wants to clinch.
Part swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Evans has managed to clinch.
Evans avoids a wild elbow strike from Part.

Part's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Part lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Part gets a clinch.
Evans throws a head punch that misses.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Evans blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Part manages to break the clinch.
Part tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Evans pushes Part up against the cage in a clinch.
Evans working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Evans scores with a shoulder strike.

Part breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Part wants to clinch up but Evans keeps it at a distance.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Part fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Evans throws out a counter right but Part avoids it with no problem.

Evans clinches up with Part and pushes him back against the cage.
A nice right hand lands inside from Part.
Evans just leaning against Part, taking a breather.
A right hook to the body lands for Evans.
Part wants to take the fight to the mat but Evans manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Evans lands a nice uppercut.
Part is trying to break the clinch but Evans has him pressed against the cage.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Part takes a shot to the head.
Part tries for a takedown. No joy.
Still in the clinch, Part scores with a nice short uppercut.
Part misses with a knee strike.
Evans lands an uppercut.
Evans stops a takedown attempt from Part.
Evans lands with a light punch inside.
Part misses with a knee to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dai Evans will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Evans drives through and clinches with Part against the cage.
Part tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Evans's elbow.
Part missing with knees to the body.
Dai Evans seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Evans scores with a shoulder strike.
Evans throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Parts head.


Part is rocked!
Part is looking to break free of the clinch but Evans has double underhooks.
Oh Part is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Evans is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Nice body punch from Evans - that landed with a thud.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Evans takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
A right hand to the body from Evans.
A short left from Evans.
Evans dips a shoulder and cracks Part with a mighty uppercut! Part falls back against the cage and Evans unloads with a barrage of strikes! Part is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Evans screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dai Evans!
Dai Evans decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
