Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ed Ruth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Marston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marston is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bring it on motherfucker. Lucas Marston has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ed Ruth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucas Marston!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marston keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Marston! But no joy.
Marston lands with a cross.
Marston throws the left hand but Ruth avoids the punch easily.
Ruth shoots in for a takedown but Marston shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ruth looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Marston throws an overhand right that lands on Ruth's shoulder, as Ruth tries to avoid the shot.
Marston misses with a hook
and Ruth counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marston uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ruth.
Marston throws out a counter right but Ruth avoids it with no problem.
Marston lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Ruth drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

and Marston counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Marston ducks under a wild hook from Ruth.
Ruth throws a sloppy body shot
and Marston counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Ruth cracks Marston with a right hand to the side of the head.
Ruth takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

It seemed like Marston was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Marston has momentary wrist control but Ruth slips an elbow through the middle.
Ruth stands up over Marston, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Marston tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ruth is looking to work some ground and pound but Marston has wrist control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marston keeping moving, preventing Ruth from controlling successfully.
Marston looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ruth is one step ahead there.

Ruth slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Marston enables Ruth to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Marston manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Ruth wants to pass the guard but Marston is keeping the position.
Ruth is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Marston can do to turn this around?

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Marston takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Ruth shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Marston but Marston pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Marston throws out a counter right but Ruth avoids it with no problem.
Ruth lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Ruth has his takedown stuffed
and Marston counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Ruth avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Marston is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ruth.

Marston throws a lazy uppercut
and Ruth cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ruth just misses with a punch to the body.
Marston throws a hook to the side of Ruth's head but Ruth sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Marston misses with an uppercut.
Ed Ruth is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Ruth throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marston's waist but Marston gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ruth off to one side.
Marston looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

I would just about give that final round to Lucas Marston.
I think Ruth has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
