PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harry Hate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Stark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stark has chosen Sail Alowanation as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Harry Hate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Stark!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stark misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hate.
Hate takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Hate stuffs the takedown.
Stark thows a left - swing and a miss!
Stark uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hate.

Hate gets caught flat footed, as Stark shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hate knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stark on the ground.
Stark scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Stark trying to control but Hate is working from the bottom.
Hate can't keep his opponent in guard - Stark advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Stark thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Nice strikes from Stark there.
Stark has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hate taking some punishment here, with Stark in his half guard.

Stark is taking a breather. Hate says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Hate keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Stark prevents Hate from standing back up.
Stark working Hate over with strikes.
Stark wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hate keeps working.
Stark is controlling the pace.
Hate tries to kick Stark off but Stark keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Stark slows the pace down in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Stark connects with a nice short shot to Hate's temple.
Stark stops Hate from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Still in half guard, Stark seems content to control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Hate looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hate uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Stark.
Stark tries to bum rush Hate with a series of wild strikes but Hate uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Stark shoots for a takedown but Hate saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Stark gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hate counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Stark thinking.
Harry Hate has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Stark.
Stark goes for a double leg but Hate avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hate continues to drive forward.
Hate is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Hate tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hate takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Hate slaps away a takedown attempt from Stark, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Stark looks winded!
Hate lands a head shot.

It looks like Tony Stark has been cut.
Hate throws a right hand that Stark ducks under and follows up with a left that Stark also avoids with ease.
Stark takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Harry Hate seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hate works the jab nicely.
Hate pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Hate throws a body punch but Stark moves out of range.
Hate with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Hate works over Stark's head and body with a nice combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hate works Stark's body with a nice hook.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Hate throws a push kick but Stark slaps the foot to one side.
Stark keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hate pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Stark lands a nice looking body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Stark tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hate defends well and Stark ends up having to push Hate into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Hate lands with a nice combination. Stark backs away looking to recover.
Hate is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Stark like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Stark from another fist facial!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Harry Hate!
Harry Hate bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
