Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimi Powell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazuo Mizaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Powell might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to 8 Mile. Kazuo Mizaki has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jimi Powell's chin.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kazuo Mizaki!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mizaki uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Powell.
Mizaki has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Mizaki there as he acknowledges the shot.

It looks like Kazuo Mizaki has been cut.
Powell looks to land a left hand but Mizaki moved out of range nicely.
It seemed like Mizaki was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Powell looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Mizaki wants to stand up but Powell is controlling him.
Powell is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mizaki wants to get back to his feet but Powell is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Powell is stalling in the full guard.
Mizaki is looking to stand back up but Powell counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Mizaki.

Well, if Powell is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mizaki can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Mizaki steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Powell.
Kazuo Mizaki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Powell tests Mizaki's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Good leg kick by Powell there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Powell throws out a powerful jab.
Powell bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

That has opened up Kazuo Mizaki's cut even more.
Mizaki uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Powell.
Mizaki looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Powell fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mizaki manages to avoid it.
Mizaki now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
A solid leg kick lands there for Powell.
Mizaki slips a jab and a cross from Powell.
Nice uppercut there from Powell.
Powell works the jab nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mizaki walks into a jab.

The cut above Kazuo Mizaki's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Mizaki misses with a hook from the clinch.
Powell effectively controlling the action here.
Mizaki wants to break free but Powell has control.
Powell lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Powell pressing his opponent against the cage.
Mizaki fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
The referee calls for Powell to work.
Powell has Mizaki pressed against the cage.
Powell seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Mizaki throws a head punch that misses.
Powell has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mizaki is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Still in the clinch, Mizaki scores with a nice short uppercut.
Powell blocking some punches.
Powell blocks an uppercut.
Mizaki throws a punch but it's blocked by Powell.
A right hand to the body from Powell.
Powell lands a body punch.
Mizaki looks winded!

Powell is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Mizaki can't fight it off and eventually Powell manages to take the fight to the floor. Mizaki looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mizaki is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Powell is working Mizaki over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Powell not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Powell's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Powell connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Mizaki takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Kazuo Mizaki's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kazuo Mizaki's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
