The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caulfield uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Van Der Meer.
A nice inside leg kick there by Caulfield. That's going to slow Van Der Meer down.
Van Der Meer throws a nice looking combination but Caulfield bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
No luck for Van Der Meer with that takedown attempt.
Caulfield connects with a solid leg kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That has opened up Martjn Van Der Meer's cut even more.
Martjn Van Der Meer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Van Der Meer looks to land a right hand but Caulfield moved out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Caulfield cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Caulfield throws a right hand that Van Der Meer ducks under and follows up with a left that Van Der Meer also avoids with ease.

and Caulfield counters with a crisp one two that drops Van Der Meer! Caulfield thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Van Der Meer to his feet! Van Der Meer is in big trouble!

Van Der Meer is still on wobbly legs! Can Caulfield finish him?
Eric Caulfield is winning the standup battle so far.
Van Der Meer throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Caulfield dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Van Der Meer seems to have recovered his senses.
Van Der Meer doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Caulfield comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Van Der Meer stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Caulfield is on him like rabid pit bull! Van Der Meer slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!
