PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Blye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Superior Nucleus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nucleus has chosen Tupac - Hit 'Em Up as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Superior Nucleus has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blye throws a looping overhand right but Nucleus ducks down to avoid it.
Blye lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Nucleus misses with a double jab
and Blye counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Blye shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nucleus napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Blye scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Nucleus to see if he's OK.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blye trying to control the position but Nucleus is working away.
Nucleus defending against the ground and pound.

Blye tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Blye wants to improve his position but Nucleus is controlling well.
Blye makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Blye.
Nucleus looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Blye trying to keep a closed guard but Nucleus is proving a slippery customer.
Blye wants to sweep here but Nucleus controlling him for the moment.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Nucleus is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Blye not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Nucleus works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Blye wants to control but Nucleus is keeping busy.
Blye is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Nucleus keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Blye makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Blye.

Blye looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nucleus is one step ahead there.
Blye is working hard here to advance position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Nucleus staying out of range there.
Nucleus pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Blye chopping away at his opponent's legs.

A low kick from Nucleus misses
and Blye cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Blye keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Blye checks a leg kick nicely.
Blye looks to throw the jab but Nucleus is out of range.
Blye drops his hands momentarily and Nucleus takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Nucleus throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Blye throwing a counter right hand but Nucleus manages to avoid it.
Nucleus throws a predictable looking body shot
and Blye counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Nucleus ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Blye moves away.
Blye misses with a straight left.
Blye takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nucleus throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Blye.
Blye misses with an uppercut
and Nucleus counters with a straight right hand.

Blye is rocked!
Superior Nucleus is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nucleus cracks Blye with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Blye tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Nucleus pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Blye is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Superior Nucleus!
Our winner, Superior Nucleus, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
