Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jos Beton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Newton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Newton has chosen She Knows as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jos Beton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Christopher Newton!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beton will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Newton defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Beton.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Newton! But no joy.
Newton leaves Beton with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jos Beton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Newton scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Newton's coach down at Lights Out™ ($849 15 Elite Coaches!) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Newton's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Beton tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Newton swivels and escapes.
Newton throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Newton scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Newton shoots in and drives through. Beton sprawls well.
Beton looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Beton fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Beton has his takedown stuffed
and Newton counters with a nice low kick that buckles Beton's knee momentarily.

A left lands for Newton.
Beton shoots for a double leg takedown but Newton sprawls well. He's pushed Beton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Newton looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Newton stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Newton wants it to stay on the feet.
Beton shoots in looking for a takedown but Newton manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Beton's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
As Beton backs off Newton throws a huge counter combo but Beton manages to avoid it all.
Newton stuffs the takedown attempt from Beton. Beton gets slowly back to his feet.
Newton lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Beton.
Beton wants to control but Newton is keeping him busy.
Newton can't do much from the bottom here.

Beton working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Beton tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Beton has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Beton is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Newton gets his way!

Beton is trying to defend against the choke here but Newton has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Newton Tightens the hold and Beton taps out furiously! Newton displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Christopher Newton!
Christopher Newton decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
