Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lim Yun Gyu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wedus Gembel!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gembel scores with a nice body kick.
A slapping body kick lands there for Gembel.
Gembel tries to score a power double leg takedown but Yun Gyu sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gembel somewhat.
Yun Gyu tests Gembel's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A right-left combo lands from Yun Gyu.
Gembel takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Jab from Yun Gyu.
Yun Gyu fails to land with a series of punches.
Yun Gyu lands a nice hook to Gembel's body. Gembel takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gembel moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Yun Gyu lands a nice shot to the body.
Gembel takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Gembel on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Gembel gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Gembel tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Yun Gyu is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Gembel buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Gembel!! Gembel is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Yun Gyu throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lim Yun Gyu!
