Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pablito Wood!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Kavanagh and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood connects with a jab.
Scofield misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wood swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Oooooh!!! Wood has knocked Scofield down with a huge combo! Wood steps away and waves a wobbly Scofield back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Scofield is rocked!
Scofield slips a jab from Wood.
Oh Scofield is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Wood gets caught flat footed, as Scofield shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Scofield prevents Wood from getting back to his feet.
Scofield seems to have got his legs back now.

Scofield thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Wood uses the cage to get back to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Scofield looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Wood looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Wood looks to score with a jab to the body but Scofield is just out of range.

Scofield is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Wood sees it coming and defends easily.
Wood wants to get back to his feet.

A frustrated look appears on Wood's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Scofield keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Wood's efforts to push away.
Wood misses with a body punch.
Wood wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Wood tries to throw a body punch but Scofield avoids it by throwing Wood back against the cage.

Wood manages to break the clinch.

Scofield gets tackled into the cage by Wood. Wood maintains the clinch.
Scofield is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wood gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Wood wants to get back to striking at distance but Scofield won't allow it.
Wood is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Wood is trying to break free.
Scofield can't get the takedown.

Wood breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Wood really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Scofield. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Scofield has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Wood scores with a punch to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scofield moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Scofield is defended easily by Wood.
Wood lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Wood tries a head kick but it misses.

Scofield shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Wood is trying to defend but Scofield finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Scofield is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Scofield is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
