The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayes swings widly with a right hand
and Katsidis counters with a stiff right hand.
Hayes swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Katsidis.
Michael Hayes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Katsidis drops Hayes with a beautiful combination! Hayes stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Katsidis is looking for the KO!

Hayes was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Katsidis throws a looping overhand right but Hayes ducks down to avoid it.
Katsidis tests Hayes's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Hayes throws a jab when Katsidis was well out of range.
Hayes throws a solid leg kick but Katsidis takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Hayes.
Katsidis lands a glancing blow to the side of Hayes's head.

Katsidis sends Hayes crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Katsidis is motioning to the referee to let Hayes up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Achilleo Katsidis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Katsidis checks the leg kick nicely there.
Oh Hayes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hayes misses with a right hand
and Katsidis counters with a huge left! Hayes is in big trouble! He's backing up but Katsidis isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Hayes from any more damage. A dominating finish by Katsidis!
