Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Juan Pablo Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Landen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Green might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Metallica - Unforgiven. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Juan Pablo Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Landen!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green misses with a head kick.

Landen looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
A big right from Landen misses.
Landen misses with a series of wild punches.
Landen fakes the leg kick and cracks Green in the body.
Landen throws a hook but Green blocks it.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Landen checks a leg kick.

Landen is looking for a sweep. Green is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Landen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Green gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Green's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Green is looking to work some ground and pound but Landen has wrist control.

Landen seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Green is looking to pass into half guard but Landen pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Landen is in guard.

Landen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Green goes for a double leg but Landen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Landen continues to drive forward.
Landen lets loose with a powerful body kick. Green will feel that in the morning.
Landen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Green moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Green ducks right into an uppercut from Landen.
Landen throws a body shot but no joy.
Green swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Landen throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Green misses with a jab, cross combination.
Landen misses with a hook.
Landen fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Green.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Green shoots for a double leg takedown but Landen sprawls well. He's pushed Green's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Green throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Landen sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Landen with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Paul Landen seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Green sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Green on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Horrible takedown attempt by Green or perhaps it was just good defense by Landen, which made it look bad.

Green tries to bum rush Landen with a series of wild strikes but Landen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Green chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Landen can pounce on him.

Green appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Green is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As Green backs off Landen throws a huge counter combo but Green manages to avoid it all.

Green shoots in and bounces Landen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Landen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Green stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Landen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Green content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Landen has locked up a guillotine! Landen's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Green is holding on here and Landen must be using up a lot of energy. Green has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Landen gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
